Main Ingredients 

The best shampoo and conditioner bars are ones that are SLS free, sillicone free, vegan, plastic free and eco friendly. That is why we choose our ingredients carefully to adhere to our goals. Below are a list of the main ingredients to create the perfect shampoo and conditioner bar recipe! 

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) 

SCI is a surfactant that's comprised of a type of sulphonic acid called isethionic acid, as well as fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. 

Made from: Coconut Oil 

Benefits:

  2. prevents fizz
  3. reduce tangling 
  4. lift and remove dirt 

Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA) 

SLSA has very similar name to the most common sulfate ingredient, Sodium Laureyl Sulfate (SLS). Both ingredients are surfactants however, SLS is an inexpensive ingredient made in a lab whereas SLSA is naturally derived from coconut and palm oils.

Decyl Glucoside

Decyl Glycoside is a natural biodegradable ingredient that originates from corn and coconut. It is known to improve skin tolerance of cosmetic formulation.

Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (Shea Butter) 

Shea Butter is a staple in many cosmetic, hair and body product. It is a creamy fat that's extracted from the nut of the African Butyrospermum Parkii Tree. It is reported by experts, that it is safe in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Lavandula Hybrida Grosso (Lavandin) Essential Oil 

Lavandin is a hybrid of 2 types of lavenders: lanvadula augustifolia (female) and lavandula latifolia (male). Its aromatic qualities and tart scent is used to lift, heal and purify complexion. 

 Made from: Lanvadula Augustifolia & Lavandula Latifolia (2 types of lavender)

Hydrolyzed Oats 

Hair products that contain hydrolyzed oats are known for its several benefits. It forms a coating on the outside layers of your hair strands, which makes your hair feel and look thicker and volumized. 

Made from: Avena Sativa Kernels (an oat extract)

D-Panthenol (Vitamin B-5) 

Panthenol is a chemical substance made from pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B-5, which is essential for healthy hair. It takes in the form of either white powder or a transparent oil at room temperature and it's used as an additive in various cosmetic products around the world.

Diheptyl Succinate 

Diheptyl Succinate is a smooth lightweight texture enhancer that is sometimes used as a replacement for silicones in cosmetic products. Although silicone is bad for your hair because it doesn't break down easily and are more difficult to dispose of, diheptyl succinate is a natural silicone alternative. It's 100% derived from castor oil and is biodegradable.

Capryloyl Glycerine / Sebacic Acid Copolymer 

Capryloyl Glycerine / Sebacic Acid Copolymer is a friend of diheptyl succinate. Together, they make a natural silicone alternative. It is a fatty acid coming from coconut oil and sebacic is derived from castor oil.

How to Use   

 Shampoo Bar 

  1. wet hair and roll the bar in hands to lather into scalp 
  2. rinse thoroughly 

Conditioner Bar 

  1. roll bar in hands and apply to length of hair (your fingers should slip through any tangles) 
  2. let conditioner sit for 5 - 10 mins 
  3. rinse

Are you at the end of your bars? Here's a cool trick: 

  1. gather all pieces of your bar 
  2. put them in a soap saver 
  3. rub soap saver to get product

Questions & Answers

1. Can I use the shampoo and conditioner bar(s) on sensitive skin?

Yes, we put a lot of thought and effort when making sure our bars work for individuals have sensitive skin. Our bars are not only hydrating (with shea butter and cocoa butter), they have no SLS and are silicone-free that uses a PH optimized formula with eco-cert ingredients. 

2. I have a sensitive nose, I tend to avoid strong scented products. Does the shampoo and conditioner bars have strong scents? 

People define "strong scent" differently, however our bars are scented with essential oils. Essentials are made from botonicals meaning there are no chemicals (like those in fragrance oils) to irritate sensitive nose (and skin). The fragrance doesn't last as long as synthetic fragrance and it is believed to promote calmness and wellness, reduce stress and anxiety. 

3. You say that this soap is pH balanced. What pH does it have?

Our soap bar has a PH balance level of 4.8 - 5.5. 

4. What is the difference between hydrating and rebalancing shampoo and conditioner bars? 

Hydrating shampoo and conditioner bar is made for dry and and curly hair. The bars are infused with lavender oil, oats and shea butter making it the perfect combination for moisture, shine and protection. Using the set together will gently take away the dirt and oil while conditioning your hair to be more resilient, visibly smooth and tangle-free. The more often you use them, the less product you will need to maintain the health of your hair.

5. How many washes does the bars last for? 

With care, our bars can last for 50-75 washes depending on hair density and volume.
